Fires Disrupt Life In SoCal
Airports and major freeways are closed, entire towns have been evacuated, and there are threats of rolling blackouts. Going out for a concert is the last thing on many residents’ minds.
Locals aren’t the only ones affected, however. Those just passing through are having to take a detour or cancel plans altogether, and this includes bands slated to play in venues from San Diego up toward Ventura.
Some of the bands who have canceled their gigs include Something Corporate, who were scheduled to play October 28 in San Diego.
“We didn’t really feel right about putting on a show when our fans should be home with their families,” lead singer Andrew McMahon said. “We’re looking forward to playing San Diego in December.”
Something Corporate rescheduled for December 18.
Also nixed is The Continental Drift Tour featuring The Visionaries.
However, a few artists are electing to go ahead with their plans. Peaches and Social Distortion are keeping on track with San Diego gigs.
If you are planning on attending a show in the SoCal area, the best bet is to call the venue and make sure things are still on, as shows can get postponed at the last minute.
