Cryptically titled the Fast And Furious Music Tour, the outing unites Universal Pictures with San Diego-based promoter Positive Entertainment for a series of daylong events, bringing the street racing lifestyle seen in the films to a town near you next summer.

“The success of all Universal’s ‘Fast And Furious’ initiatives illustrates the popularity and power of this brand,” Beth Goss of Universal Pictures said. “We think the music tour is another great way to bring the energy and excitement of ‘The Fast And Furious’ experience to consumers.”

Although they’re still working on getting bands to sign on and figuring out a tour schedule, Positive Entertainment has the event schedule all planned out.

The daylong show will comprise such activities as In Car Entertainment competitions, DJ battles, MC battles, break dancing competitions, urban dance/urban art exhibitions, and car shows including exhibitions of cars from the movies and those owned by celebrities.

Of course, at the end of the day will be the concert portion of the tour. It’s reported the tour organizers are targeting the artists who performed on the movies’ soundtracks.

If that works out, the itinerary could include Caddillac Tah, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Limp Bizkit, Ludacris, Trick Daddy, Chingy, Joe Budden, Dead Prez, and others. However, POLLSTAR stresses that no artists have been confirmed yet.
