Offering fans a special opportunity to see him in smaller-than-usual settings, Sting will play the theatre route from January 23 in Florida to March 22 in Montreal. New York’s Beacon Theatre will host him for three nights in a row, while the Orpheum Theatre in Boston gets the musician for two.

Following North American dates, Sting plans to take the show overseas in the spring. A European schedule is forthcoming.

It’s been a couple years since Sting last toured. When his Brand New Day disc came out, he really went big and was on the road from 1999 through 2001.

As for Sacred Love the album, it’s been doing pretty well on the charts. Billboard reports the disc, in its sixth week, is at a No. 25 slot on its charts. Punctuated by a handful of guest appearances, including Mary J. Blige, Anoushka Shankar and Vicente Amigo, the CD is a versatile offering of world beats.

Sting also has recently published his memoirs, “Broken Music.”

For his efforts, Sting has been named Billboard‘s century award honoree and will be recognized at the Billboard Music Awards December 10.
