Yanni Pledges Ethnicity
The second batch of shows run a solid month starting March 4 in Albuquerque. Right now, only the eastern half of the States is booked and it’s not clear if Yanni will make it out west.
When Yanni launched his three-month tour last spring, it was his first outing since 1998. And fans were clamoring to see the artist as he made the arena rounds. The outing nabbed the No. 11 slot on POLLSTAR’s Top 50 tours midyear list.
With 90 people, one dog, seven buses for 28 musicians, and six semi trucks for the staging, the tour was one big production.
In addition to his Ethnicity album, which shot to No. 1 on the New Age charts, the artist also released an equally successful book of memoirs, “Yanni In Words.”
But the Yanni fun doesn’t stop there. His most recent PBS special – and he’s famous for his PBS specials – “Yanni Live At Royal Albert Hall” was one of the top fundraisers for the station in December 2002 and March 2003.
