Brand New Day
22-year-old singer/songwriter Howie Day is ready for the road again. The Maine native will be hitting theatres and clubs across the Midwest and East Coast, starting February 4 at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club.
British alterna-rockers Stereophonics will open all dates on the tour, which is scheduled to run through March 5. Their latest effort, You Gotta Go There to Come Back, was released Stateside by V2 Records in September.
Day has been on a wild ride since his indie debut, Australia, was picked up by Epic in 2002. Through constant touring, the youngster had already sold a good 30,000 albums and built up quite a fan base. The promotional bump he received from Epic – including an opening slot for Tori Amos – didn’t hurt things a bit.
This past fall, he headlined his own tour of the States in support of Stop All the World Now, his sophomore effort. That tour saw Day using a backup band onstage for the first time.
