Yonder Mountain String Band are out to provide a respite from the winter blahs with their annual Cabin Fever Tour.

The outing starts just a couple weeks after the band’s stint aboard the Jam Cruise II out of Florida. Dates run the whole month of February and include a two-night stand in Atlanta.

Although they play cordless instruments, the Yonder Mountain String Band are very much plugged into the ‘Net. They have just made albums and tracks available for download through a link from their Web site.

Individual tracks are $.99 and entire albums start at $7.95 and are available in “regular” format as well as mp3.

Speaking of albums, the group’s most recent offering – available both through the traditional brick and mortars and on their site – is last year’s Old Hands.

Following Yonder Mountain’s winter trek, mandolin player Jeff Austin and Chris Castino of the Big Wu are linking up for a handful of solo shows around the Midwest.
