Last year, The Gossip released their third effort for Kill Rock Stars, Movement, as well as a live album, Undead in NYC, on Dim Mak. The albums follow 2002’s Arkansas Heat and their 2000 debut, That’s Not What I Heard.

Although The Gossip are covering a lot of ground – including multi-date runs in Texas and Florida – it looks like the West Coast will have to sit and spin for a while. Many fans in the Western states got their first taste of the lo-fi rockers several years back, when the band took on supporting slots for the White Stripes and Sleater-Kinney.

When their first EP appeared on K Records in 2000, The Gossip proclaimed, “We started a band because we were bored. Our mission is to make you dance and if yr not gonna dance, just stay at home.” Pretentious wallflowers, take heed!
