High Llamas Back On The Circuit
British indie mainstays the High Llamas are back with a new album and tour. Sean O’Hagan and company will traverse North American highways and byways starting February 20 at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C.
The tour hits Detroit’s Magic Stick, San Francisco’s Bottom Of The Hill and others before wrapping March 6 in West Hollywood at The Troubadour.
Fans can expect the Llamas to showcase material from their latest effort, Beet, Maize, & Corn, released last October on prestigious indie label Drag City. For the album, their seventh, the band eschewed their familiar synthesizers and electric guitars in favor of more subtle acoustic and orchestral arrangements.
It’s been several years since the Llamas crossed the Pacific. Stateside fans last got a taste on O’Hagan’s solo tour in late 2001.
