The tour kicks off in Los Angeles March 29, the day Prince’s new disc, Musicology, drops. Verified dates run through June 12, with at least a dozen more reportedly on the way. Upcoming announcements are promised for major cities including Boston, Chicago, New York City and San Francisco, with shows in Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville and more already confirmed.

All concerts are scheduled to be performed “in the round” on a revolving center stage.

The New Power Generation includes legendary James Brown sax player Maceo Parker, as well as Greg Boyer (trombone), Candy Dulfer (saxophone), Chance Howard (trumpet), Renato Neto (piano and synthesizers), RAD. (vocals and keyboards), John Blackwell (drums) and Rhonda Smith (bass).

Prince has been making assorted appearances this year, many on characteristically short notice. In addition to his televised duet with Beyoncé at the Grammy Awards, he gave a surprise performance January 25 at a Golden Globe after-party in Beverly Hills and did two February shows at The Fillmore in San Francisco.
