Liars, Liars, Liars
Don’t take their name to heart: There’s nothing phony about The Liars‘ latest tour. The electro-punk trio has more than a month’s worth of dates on the books this spring, beginning March 16 in Montreal.
The band is making the daring move of skipping out on this year’s South by Southwest conference. Taking advantage of the fact that dang near every indie band in existence will be in Austin for the ultra-hip convention, The Liars aim to keep North American audiences all for themselves throughout mid-March.
The group seems to have successfully avoided the sophomore slump with their hot new full-length, They Were Wrong, So We Drowned, released on Mute in February. Founding members Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill recorded the critically lauded album with new percussionist Julian Gross, who joined after Pat Noecker and Ron Albertson left.
