Southern indie-popsters Of Montreal have a busy spring ahead, with an ambitious North American tour kicking off April 8 at home in Athens, Ga. The packed itinerary has them playing nearly every day for six weeks. They’ll even do two shows in one day on April 16, when they hit both SUNY Purchase and Brooklyn’s Northsix.
Of Montreal’s new album, Satanic Panic In The Attic, is set for an April release in the U.S., with the U.K. version coming out the following month. The album has already hit shelves in Australia and Japan.
Athens native Kevin Barnes founded Of Montreal in the mid-’90s. The band quickly became an integral part of the Elephant 6 indie collective, releasing its first four albums in less than two years. Satanic Panic In The Attic marks their eighth, and follows last summer’s singles/rarities collection If He Is Protecting Our Nation, Then Who Will Protect Big Oil, Our Children?
