Stereolab Soldiers On
Stereolab are back on the road for the first time in nearly two years, supporting their new recording, Margerine Eclipse. The tour and album are the band’s first since vocalist Mary Hansen was killed in a bicycle accident in December 2002.
The group finished a three-week European leg in mid-March, and their North American tour is now underway. They’ll stay on the road through May 1, when they appear at the
Clearlake will support on most early dates, with Mice Parade stepping in April 18.
Margerine Eclipse marks Stereolab’s ninth album in 14 years together, not counting several singles collections and a 2002’s ABC Music: The Radio 1 Sessions. These days, the band is a seven-piece, featuring Sean O’Hagan, Andy Ramsay, Fulton Dingley, Simon Johns, Dominic Jeffery, and founders Tim Gane and Laetitia Sadler.
