It’s Chappelle’s Show
He may have a hit TV show and a solid film career, but Dave Chappelle still can’t stay off the road. Like most comedians, Chappelle has firm roots in live performance, and he’s staying true to them with an ambitious three-month tour of the U.S.
The Grass Roots Tour kicks off with two dates at The Improv in Homestead, Pa., April 9. The show hits most corners of the lower 48 and runs through early July, with multiple dates in many cities.
The comedian got his start in his native Washington, D.C., at 14 years old. He began making the local comedy club circuit and eventually graduated to venerable venues including Radio City Music Hall and Lincoln Center.
He made a splash with last year’s largely sold-out Blackzilla tour, and still found time to produce the weekly hit series “Chappelle’s Show” on Comedy Central.
