Let’s Go Indigo
TheIndigo Girls are supporting their ninth studio album, All That We Let In, with a summer tour. The Girls – singer/guitarists Amy Ray and Emily Saliers – have been performing together for more than 20 years, having first taken on the Indigo Girls moniker in 1985.
In addition to producing a formidable catalog of tunes, the two have built a reputation as social activists, with prominent roles in organizations including Honor The Earth, Women’s Action for New Directions and Rock The Vote.
These days Ray and Saliers are augmented by the team of bassist Clare Kenny, keyboardist Carol Isaacs and drummer Brady Blade, although they’ll perform as an acoustic duo for the first two shows of the tour, June 11 in Boston and June 12 in Hyannis, Mass.
The trek is scheduled to stretch through August 7, with double nights in several cities including Atlanta, San Diego and Denver. Additional dates are promised.
