Punk veterans Stiff Little Fingers have some serious staying power. The band was formed in 1977 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and has, with the exception of a five-year hiatus in the mid-‘80s, been touring and recording ever since.
So far this year, they’ve hit the U.S., Italy and the U.K., and they’re gearing up for another Stateside run this summer, beginning August 3 in Seattle and concluding in Chicago on the 27th.
The Fingers’ latest studio recording, Guitar & Drum, was five years in the making. Frontman Jake Burns calls it “a bit of a return to our roots but with the odd surprise.” EMI released the album in the U.K. last fall, and Kung Fu Records has announced it will issue the U.S. version July 13.
