The Australian children’s group is renowned for its wildly entertaining shows, featuring a stellar set of songs and popular characters like Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword, the friendly pirate.

This summer’s route winds from New Orleans, where they’ll launch the tour on August 2, through the Midwest and back around to Rochester, N.Y., wrapping August 31 at the Blue Cross Arena.

The band covered the West Coast in April, and promises to return to the States in November.

Anthony Field, Murray Cook and Greg Page started the group in 1991 as college classmates in Sydney, where the three were studying early education. They added Jeff Fatt, Field’s bandmate from The Cockroaches, and soon became one of the most popular children’s groups ever.

The band’s latest album, Cold Spaghetti Western, was released on Koch in March.
