Following its U.S. jaunt, the politically-charged band will reportedly spend July in Europe before its appearance at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.

According to the band, they chose the !!! symbol rather than a conventional name because “it reflects the excitement shared by the band members, mixed with an intense desire to shake things up.”

And it’s a perfect fit for the way !!! conducts its concerts. The group is known for its zany live shows and has built a cult following thanks to the members’ determination for audience interaction, which includes conga lines, call-and-response chants and other fun stuff. Needless to say, !!! strives to involve its fans in their live gigs. It’s more of a group participation project.

!!! formed in the mid-`90s in Sacramento, Calif., at a dance party. The eight members grew up together and eventually streamlined their creative talents into a band that defies genre labels.
