The cult heroine is set to make stops through the so-called “swing states” this fall with friends and fellow performers like fellow Righteous Babe artist Andrew Bird (August 5-6), jazz/hip-hop group Soulive (August 3 & 6) and comedian Margaret Cho, who will join DiFranco for three dates in September.

Before her political jaunt, however, the singer/songwriter will visit fans in the Western half of the U.S. doing what she does best: playing music and speaking her mind.

After a few dates in late July, DiFranco will make her way East, joining forces with the Feminist Majority Foundation’s “Get Out Her Vote” campaign and other local organizations along the way.

The singer will make several stops throughout the controversial voting grounds of Florida, then head to the House of Blues in New Orleans September 21. From there, she’ll visit the Midwest, playing a couple theatre performances with Suzanne Westenhoefer before wrapping things up in the U.S. and flying to Japan.

The grass-roots singer will return to the States for a two-night extravaganza in New York City’s Beacon Theatre November 19-20.
