Katie Melua Dates Postponed
Katie Melua has postponed her U.S. tour, which was set to run from August 22 to September 2 in the East Coast and Midwest. According to her booking agent, the tour will be rescheduled for November, although no confirmed schedule is available yet.
Melua (pronounced Mel-OH-ah) is one of England’s newest sensations, a 20-year-old singer who knocked Dido off the top position of the U.K. charts and is grabbing as much attention overseas for her looks as she is for her music (something she admitted to Pollstar was “bloody awful, to be honest”).
Her fall dates in the U.K. and Europe are still on. Although she’s still at the club level in the U.S., she won’t be playing anything as intimate once she’s back across the pond. It’s normal for her to play 4,000- to 5,000-capacity venues in Europe and the upcoming dates include London’s Royal Albert Hall October 22nd.
