The Return Of Helmet
Influential sludge-metalists Helmet have announced a return to the road in the wake of their first album of new material in seven years. Size Matters is due September 14 on Interscope Records and the band hits the road three days later in Atlanta.
This five-week club swing marks their first trek since 1997 and they’ll return to some of the venues they cut their teeth in, including The Bowery Ballroom in NYC, the Troubadour in Los Angeles, the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., and Slim’s in San Francisco.
For the fall tour, band founder and frontman Page Hamilton will be joined by bandmates Chris Traynor (guitars); John Tempesta, formerly of Zombie (drums); and Frank Bello, formerly of Anthrax (bass).
Look for them to draw on songs from such albums as Strap It On, Meantime, Betty, and Aftertaste, as well as the new disc.
