A post on Fogelberg’s Web site said he is undergoing treatment and “is confident he will be able to fight this illness.”

His solo acoustic tour was scheduled to begin October 16th in Coral Springs, Fla., and was to stop in 16 theatres and performing arts centers.

Last year Fogelberg released Full Circle, his first studio album in more than a decade. He decided to get back to his roots on the album, which features a mostly acoustic atmosphere reminiscent of the early ’70s work that first shot him to fame.

He got an extra boost of publicity when he was one of the 10 initial inductees for the Performers Hall of Fame at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, an honor he shared with Santana, Sting, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Lily Pons, Willie Nelson, U2, Stevie Ray Vaughan and The Allman Brothers Band.
