A Smith To Remember
From Rolling Stone to Esquire magazine, Mindy Smith has been chatted up as the next big thing, and possibly the next young woman to make a Norah Jones-like splash. No less than Dolly Parton said Smith “will leave her mark as one of our greatest writers and singers ever.”
Her debut album, One Moment More, is filled with old fashioned country/bluegrass and has garnered serious praise; one can see her going up against Alison Krauss for a lot of Grammys some day.
House of Blues Concerts is promoting the tour, which runs from October 1st to November 7th, starting in Asheville, N.C., and ending up at the House of Blues on Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip.
“After seeing Mindy, I knew she was the ‘real deal’ and could deliver live as well as on record,” HoB senior VP Kevin Morrow said. “House of Blues is committed to developing this kind of talent on a national scope.”
Some of the major market include Philadelphia, New York, Detroit, Minneapolis, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Seattle and San Francisco.
