Backstreet International
The boy-band that launched a turn-of-the-millennium phenomenon returns intact and in concert.
Backstreet Boys are about to play two huge stadium shows in China, then do a five-night arena run in Tokyo before heading to Mexico City for more big shows in October.
Backstreet Boys have chosen Special Olympics to be the charity of choice for the band’s concert at Beijing Olympic Stadium September 24. The group then performs in Shanghai at Hongkou Stadium on September 26.
The Japan shows take place at the Yoyogi Gym – a popular sports arena. In Mexico City, they play the Palacio De Los Deportes, which has a potential capacity of 21,000. Not bad for a group that last toured in 2001.
In sharp contrast to the major overseas gigs, the vocal group will warm up with a show at House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., on September 17.
