From there, vocalist/bassist Satomi Matsuzaki, drummer Greg Sanier, and guitarists John Dieterich and Chris Cohen are scheduled to open four more gigs with Wilco before breaking away to headline their own shows throughout November.

Going on 10 years as a band – give or a take a couple staff changes along the way – Deerhoof released their sixth album, Milk Man, on Kill Rock Stars/5RC last March.

Since then, the band has recently toured with label mates The Decemberists, Xiu Xiu as well as The Gossip and !!! (Chik Chik Chik).

In other recent news, the indie foursome has announced that a free live album, Bibidi Babidi Boo, is available for free download at Deerhoof’s official Web site, deerhoof.killrockstars.com.The 13-song album – recorded worldwide between 2002 to present – will feature D’hoof favorites such as “Panda Panda Panda,” “Milking,” and “Flower,” among others.

The album will soon be available on krs5rc.com, a free record label started by staffers at Kill Rock Stars and 5 Rue Christine, which are based in Olympia, Wash.

It will feature downloadable “out-takes, unreleased songs, alternate mixes, and live recordings of bands you already know; great demo tapes from unheard bands that we loved at the KRS and 5RC offices,” – not to mention artwork, the Web site says. Right on!
