The flamboyant quintet Scissor Sisters will bring its dance grooves, disco balls and decadence to clubs and theatres in Georgia, Texas, Kansas, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky before wrapping up at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom December 19.
The group, comprising singers Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, bassist/keyboardist Babydaddy, guitarist Del Marquis and Derek G and drummer Paddy Boom, has already made a splash with the Brits.
Its self-titled album on Polydor went platinum in the U.K. not long after its February release, with a disco version of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” a crowd favorite.
Since hitting the music scene in 2001, the group has also landed opening slots with Elton John, The B-52’s and Duran Duran.
