The group is playing January 23-28 in the U.K., and U.S. dates are to be announced. The dates on the books have been selling quickly, and there are rumors that another London date will be added.

The British “punk-funk” band was always more of a critics darling than a commercial success, especially here in the U.S. Like The Raincoats and Stiff Little Fingers, though, it didn’t stop their eccentric sound from being one of the more powerful influences of the ‘80s.

Formed in 1977, the quartet (then trio believe it or not), had a go of things for about seven years, getting most of its attention around 1979 for the iconic Entertainment album.

An incarnation of the band re-formed in 1991, but this will be the original lineup of Andy Gill, Dave Allen and Hugo Burnham.
