Carlin Enters Rehab

Comedian George Carlin announced he will enter an undisclosed drug rehabilitation facility to battle addictions to alcohol and a painkiller.

“I use too much wine and Vicodin,” Carlin said in a statement. “No one told me I needed this. I recognized the problem and took the step myself.”

The comedian toured the U.S. throughout much of last year and has dates booked through late March, including a two-week stand at Las Vegas’ Stardust Resort & Casino.

The statement did not specify the location or planned duration of his rehabilitation.
