Texas Arena Gets Approval

Global Entertainment Corp. has been awarded a new multipurpose event center development project in Cedar Park, Texas, a suburb of Austin.

Voters approved a $30.8 million bond to build an arena that will seat up to 7,000 for concerts, ice hockey, trade shows and other functions.

The Central Hockey League’s Austin Ice Bats will make their home at the venue, which is expected to be open in time for the 2006 hockey season.
