Mississippi Plan Unveiled

The master plan for the $87.9 million Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center in Meridian was unveiled February 10th.

The facility is expected to include a 12,000-seat amphitheatre and performing arts building, which is set to include a 500-seat theatre.

Funding for the center is being sought from federal, state, local and private sources. It is expected to generate $10 million annually and draw more than 200,000 visitors a year.

The center’s honorary committee reportedly includes Mississippi-born 3 Doors Down, Faith Hill, B.B. King, Britney Spears, and Jimmy Buffett.
