Smoke On, Joe!
Don’t look now, but the big “Three-Oh” is just around the corner for blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. Oh, it’s still a couple years off, but that’s saying something for a musician who’s been in the business since he was 12 years old, playing on national television for Jane Pauley.
“Columbia was on the phone within 20 minutes of the end of the program,” Bonamassa told Pollstar back in 2002, when he was 25.
It’s been a wild ride ever since, putting out records on EMI, Epic and grassroots-friendly Medallion Entertainment. But what’s a blues guitarist without a live show? And that’s where Bonamassa excels.
Starting in Phoenix on June 8, the axe man swings through Vegas, Indianapolis, Dallas, Milwaukee, Las Vegas … the list goes on and on and on. That’s because Bonamassa has dates all the way into December. Enjoy your blues, you bluesy people.
