Carter Arrested On DUI

Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys was charged March 8th with drunken driving following an incident in Huntington Beach, Calif.

Police pulled over the performer March 5th after he committed a traffic violation. Then he allegedly failed a field sobriety test.

Carter was later released and ordered to appear at an April 13th arraignment.

Publicist Juliette Harris said the singer had taken a prescription medication and wasn’t aware of its possible interaction with alcohol.

Backstreet Boys are scheduled to launch a 13-city tour March 21st in New York.

Carter can send his attorney to the arraignment because the charges are misdemeanors, an official said.
