Hennepin Theatres Plan Up For Vote

The Minneapolis City Council is scheduled to vote in mid-March on a controversial proposal by The Hennepin Theatre Trust, Historic Theatre Group and Clear Channel Entertainment to run the Orpheum, Pantages and State theatres.

If approved, the joint partnership would give CCE a 30-year consulting agreement to assist in booking Broadway shows. Day-to-day management would remain with the Historic and Hennepin groups, the current operators, according to Minnesota Public Radio.

Fred Krohn, Historic Theatre Group GM, previously told Pollstar the partnership will be a step forward in preserving the theatres and their legacy for the future.
