Danny Joe Brown Dies

Danny Joe Brown, a founding member of Molly Hatchet, died of complications from pneumonia March 10th at his home in Davie, Fla.

Brown, 53, co-founded Molly Hatchet in Jacksonville, Fla., in 1975, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He was lead singer and co-writer on some of the band’s biggest hits.

Brown quit the band in the early 1980s, saying he was exhausted from constant touring, and went on to release a solo album.

He rejoined Molly Hatchet in the late 1980s, but was forced to leave the band after suffering a stroke in 1998.
