CCE Wants Judge Back

Clear Channel Entertainment , owner of Tampa, Fla.’s 20,000-capacity Ford Amphitheatre, is asking that a judge be reinstated in a noise violation dispute with Hillsborough County’s Environmental Protection Commission.

Circuit Judge Gregory Holder reportedly stepped down from the case in early March after the EPC accused him of bias. The case has been reassigned to Judge Charlene Honeywell.

Clear Channel filed a petition March 28th requesting that Holder be reinstated, saying the EPC’s motion to have Holder removed from the case “was legally insufficient, both procedurally and substantively,” The Tampa Tribune reported.

The suit – which involved the Florida State Fair Authority – was filed in December after the EPC received more than 170 noise complaints from neighbors, according the St. Petersburg Times. It seeks to halt concerts at the $23 million shed until the matter is resolved.
