Meigs Field Concert Venue

Chicago’s planning commission has given the thumbs up to putting a temporary stage at Northerly Island, former site of Meigs Field.

The 8,000-seat venue is expected to host 25 to 30 concerts and family shows over the summer. Clear Channel Entertainment will promote all the shows, which will range from local to national acts.

The shed is expected to be ready for a mid-June kickoff.

CCE has a five-year contract for the temp stage. Details on the lineup and amphitheatre design are forthcoming.
