Travers Finds Donor

Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary has leukemia and will undergo a bone marrow transplant, now that she’s found a donor.

Travers, 67, began chemotherapy in December and was expected to go into remission, but the treatments didn’t stop the disease.

“We found a match – well, almost a match,” she wrote on the trio’s Web site. “Nine points out of 10. I hate to say this but it’s close enough for folk music.”

Publicist Heather Lylis said Travers, who revealed she had the disease last year, is expected to undergo the transplant soon.

All spring dates for the Peter, Paul and Mary tour were canceled.
