Conviction In Knight Killing

Donald Alan Fair was convicted of murdering former Grand Funk Railroad manager Terrance “Terry” Knight in a Bell County, Texas, court April 27th.

A jury deliberated less than 40 minutes before handing down its decision.

Fair, 27, stabbed Knight to death November 1st in a domestic dispute. Fair was in a relationship with Knight’s daughter, and the murder took place in the apartment the three of them shared.

Knight, 61, was stabbed 17 times by Fair, who may have been high on methamphetamine at the time, according to defense attorney Jim Hewitt.

Knight managed GFR during the 1960s and early ’70s. Fair will be sentenced at a later date.
