Zakk’s Wylde Side

In an unexplainable fit of rage, Zakk Wylde took a baseball bat to Boise, Idaho’s 1,000-capacity Big Easy nightclub April 28th, according to venue co-owner Paul Thornton.

Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society was there to perform but Thornton decided to cancel the show.

“He basically just smashed up a few things – glass and whatnot,” Thornton told Pollstar. “It made it impossible for us to do the show that night.”

Wylde’s manager – Bob Ringe of Survival Management – will take care of the cost of damages and charges will not be filed, Thornton added.

“It’s not as big of a deal as it seemed to a lot of people,” he said. “It’s not like we’d hold that over their head anyway.”

Why the guitarist decided to trash the venue still remains a mystery.

“Nothing triggered him off in an argumentative way,” Thornton said. “From my understanding, he was emotional about something walking in the door.

“Sometimes those things happen and people regret it after the fact.”

Wylde’s representatives had no comment.
