Audioslave Goes To Cuba

At press time, Audioslave was set to take time off from a U.S. tour to play a free outdoor concert at the Anti-Imperialist Plaza along the Malecon in Havana May 6th.

In a press release from Interscope Records, the band said it got authorization for the gig from the U.S. Treasury Department and the Instituto Cubano de la Musica.

The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control would neither confirm nor deny that authorization had been granted.

Audioslave said it would be the first U.S. rock band to perform outdoors in Cuba.
