And while the ‘90s are currently being rejected, the formerly gauche ‘80s are unquestionably undergoing a massive revival. Every decade must need an additional 10 years or so just to distill the good from the bad – to separate the oil of Echo and The Bunnymen from the vinegar of Animotion, so to speak.

Since the music of the Reagan / Thatcher era is back in vogue, it’s only fitting that a band such as Action Action take it’s music on the road.

The group puts a moody, contemporary spin on its danceable tunes, marrying the bounce of new wave with the uncertainty of the new millennium.

Formed from remnants of New York pop-punk outfits The Reunion Show and Count The Stars, Action Action recently released Don’t Cut Your Fabric To This Year’s Fashion.

The album was produced by Cyndi Lauper producer William Wittman and is layered with the type of synth-heavy pop that came to define the music of the decade. Even some tour posters are graced with the phrase, “If you like Depeche Mode, you’ll love Action Action.”

The band is on the road showcasing its gloomy power-pop for the next several weeks. Action Action spends most of May in New England, then continues on along the East Coast, playing major cities from Delaware to Florida.

The first half of July sees the band playing the Southwestern states before heading up to a show in Seattle at El Corazon on July 13. Trekking back East through the Midwest, Action Action will hit a bunch major cities along the way. The tour is slated to finish up on August 1 in Buffalo, N.Y.
