Kodak Gets New Operator

Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre – home to the Academy Awards and past Pollstar Awards ceremonies – is now managed by Chicago-based TheatreDreams and CIM Group in a joint venture agreement.

The former comprises theatrical producers and theatre managers, and the latter is the owner of the Hollywood & Highland Center, which houses the theatre. CIM Group has owned the property for about a year.

It also joins TheatreDreams in booking The Chicago Theatre, which has said to have doubled its programming since TheatreDreams acquired the venue last year.

“[The Kodak Theatre is] a wide open facility,” TheatreDreams principal Lawrence Wilker told Pollstar. “We welcome all promoters and we’d just love to have the place filled with a variety of entertainment.”

The Kodak was previously operated by AEG Live.
