Night Of The Wolfmen
But the Michigan-based noise peddlers have been winning fans over since the late 1990s with their abrasive howls and squealing synths. This September, the trio heads across the U.S. on a tour that will take them well into the fall.
The noise-fest starts in Cleveland September 14, quickly moving up to Canada and through the East Coast. They’ll be offending bystanders in the South by the end of the month, and then it’s off to the West Coast.
They’ll circle back through the Midwest and wrap at Chicago’s Empty Bottle October 21.
The group got its start in founder Nate Young’s bedroom in 1996, where he constructed a series of cassette releases and subsequently supported them on tour with partner Aaron Dilloway.
These days, Wolf Eyes is a trio (John Olson joined in 2000) and has graduated from homemade tapes to full-length discs on Sub Pop.
The group’s latest, Burned Mind, dropped last fall. Shortly thereafter, Sub Pop released the limited edition vinyl-only EP Lost Sockets, an offering originally intended to be a tour exclusive on the failed Lollapalooza outing.
