Ontario Promoter Pleads Guilty

Thunder Bay, Ontario-based promoter Mark Zurevinsky pleaded guilty to tax evasion June 2nd.

Zurevinsky acknowledged in an Ontario Court hearing that he had failed to report nearly $190,000 in income for himself and his two companies – MZ Productions and MAZ Concerts – from 1996 to 1998, according to the Thunder Bay Chronicle-Journal.

The total taxes evaded came to $53,894, and a federal prosecutor asked the court to impose fines of that amount. She also noted that a Revenue Canada investigation had resulted in $187,838 in civil reassessments against Zurevinsky, the paper said.

Sentencing was set for June 28th.

Although Pollstar has no records of activity by Zurevinsky since 2000, the Journal reported that he recently booked international artists including a North American visit from the Ukrainian National Army Song and Dance Company.
