Neal McCoy’s Holding Up
Neal McCoy got his big break about 25 years ago at a talent show at a Dallas supper club, and took his act on the road with Charlie Pride. It took several years before he made a name for himself, though.
Thing is, McCoy tends to keep things loose onstage, sometimes jamming, sometimes talking to the audience – and the early recordings didn’t capture the fun of his live side. In fact, the country star of Irish/Filipino descent is known to talk to damn near everybody onstage and off, and isn’t afraid to pose for photos, either.
And boy, does he love the adoration of his audience. He must not get enough of it, because the guy can’t stay home. His summer dates kicked off June 17 and they don’t stop until January.
McCoy’s onstage antics take place all over the continent at dozens of venues. Hopefully, gas prices will drop.
