Daryl Hall Sidelined By Tick

Hall & Oates postponed all of its July tour dates after Daryl Hall was diagnosed with Lyme disease.

The singer is expected to make a full recovery, representatives said, and the tour is scheduled to resume August 23rd.

Lyme disease is contracted from the bite of infected deer ticks, and is marked by a red “bull’s-eye” rash and flu-like symptoms. It is easily treated with antibiotics when diagnosed early but if left untreated, it can lead to arthritis, neurological problems and the potentially fatal encephalitis.

The postponed dates included shows in Los Angeles and San Diego. The group’s tour is currently scheduled to run through late November. A publicist said the affected dates were being rescheduled and a revised itinerary would be released shortly.

“We are so sorry to disappoint our fans, but we promise to make it up to them,” Hall said.
