Combs Book Case Settled

Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has settled a longstanding lawsuit filed against him by Random House Inc. over a memoir Combs never completed.

The publishing company claimed it was owed a $300,000 advance for a book the music mogul was supposed to have written by 1999. The details of the settlement were undisclosed, and a Random House spokesman would not say whether Combs has returned the money.

One thing is clear though: The memoir will not be written. Combs sued his would-be collaborator, author Mikal Gilmore, in 2001 for allegedly ditching him after accepting $325,000 to work on the book.

That case was suspended after Gilmore filed for bankruptcy, then dismissed.
