Sympathy For Metallica
The Rolling Stones have always had a reputation of adding hip, cool artists to their shows. For instance, they helped introduce the world to Prince, before the world was ready. And they’re obviously not into keeping their support acts within a safe musical boundary.
Case in point, when the Stones visit San Francisco’s SBC Park on November 13 and 15, they’ll be joined by special guest Metallica.
“… we were honored to receive an invitation from the Stones to share the stage with them in our home town,” reads the announcement posted on the band’s Web site. “After having the thrill of playing with some of our personal heroes such as AC/DC, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Ozzy, how could we say ‘no’ to the quintessential rock band, who are in some way responsible for all this?”
The November 13 show is already sold out, but there’s still tickets to be grabbed for the November 15 show.
