The band previously announced a September/October trip through North America and a series of Euro dates stretching into mid-November. Now they’ve added a two-week run of U.K. arenas that will take them into December, with shows in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain to follow.

The group recently announced it had resorted to actually giving its upcoming album a title. The band’s sophomore release shall be known as You Could Have It So Much Better … With Franz Ferdinand and will be released October 4.

Previously, band members had said the album – and all Franz’s future efforts – would be self-titled, with a different color scheme but the same basic graphics as their debut.

The first single from the new disc, “Do You Want To,” is already topping the U.K. charts.

Franz Ferdinand gave the fans at Stafford, England’s V Festival a taste of the new songs August 20. They also joined the Scissor Sisters the next day in Chelmsford for a festival finale performance of David Bowie‘s “Suffragette City.”
