Sheryl’s Very Special Engagement(s)
If getting engaged to cyclist superstar Lance Armstrong wasn’t enough, Sheryl Crow has booked nine extra special shows for October. Joining Crow, Tim Smith, Peter Stroud, MikeRowe and Jeremy Stacey on stage will be a 12 piece string section.
Crow’s upcoming album, Wildflower, utilizes “an organic string sound,” according to her PR folks. So, in order to “present an authentic auditory experience,” arranger David Campbell, father of Beck Hansen (a.k.a. Beck), will be on hand to conduct the arrangements for the new songs. Some of the older tunes will get the string treatment as well.
The nine Very Special Engagement shows take place in Seattle, Portland, Reno, Berkeley, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles and New York City.
Wildflower will be released in the U.S. on September 27 with the debutsingle, “Good Is Good,” preceding it on September 19.
