Dressy Bessy will hit New York City for the CMJ Convention Show at Lincoln Center in the early afternoon of September 17, then head to the Mercury Lounge for another CMJ appearance.

Dates in the Midwest will precede the NYC shows, and they’ll head to Pittsburgh and Kentucky afterward. The current itinerary lists shows in Indiana, Missouri and Oklahoma through September 23.

The band hit the West Coast this summer and opened for The Decemberists on several dates last fall. Earlier this year, they recorded Electrified, their latest album for Transdreamer Records.

NPR’s Ken Tucker recently put the album up next to Coldplay‘s X&Y and gave Dressy Bessy a resounding victory, calling the band “a far more efficient pleasure-machine than Coldplay.”
